Stephen McCallum was born and raised in Perth, cutting his teeth on award-winning music videos before heading east to study directing at AFTRS.
Since then, Steve has garnered a reputation for crafting dynamic stories across all mediums. He has a passion for engaging audiences through natural performance and immersive visuals.
Steve is perhaps best known for his commercial in support of gay marriage, Its Time. The spot was a viral sensation, receiving blog and news coverage around the world – including recognition by Ad News as THE viral campaign of the year.
Most recently, McCallum’s feature debut 1% premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it sold to prestigious US distributor A24.
