A24 pick up McCallum’s 1%
A24 and DirecTV have acquired North American rights to Stephen McCallum’s debut feature 1%. The Australian crime thriller will be released in US theatres and via DirecTV.
On average, A24 distributes and produces around 12 films a year. Their films have been nominated for Academy Awards fourteen times, and won their first Oscar for Best Picture this year with their production Moonlight.
1% had its world premiere last Friday at the Toronto International Film Festival and marks the beginning of the film’s international festival tour. Next up, the BFI Film Festival in London.
1% is produced by Jamie Hilton and Michael Pontin for See Pictures, with executive producers Josh Pomeranz, Viv Scanu, Stephen Boyle, Phil Hunt and Compton Ross.
